There may be various reasons as to why your expected winnings are lower than expected and sometimes your returns even end up in losses.
Please be assured that there is always a valid reason and the most common ones are mentioned below:
Dead Heat
A dead heat is when two or more selections share a position in either Win Markets or Place markets.
When more than one selection is judged to have finished in a single position we need to divide the bet settlement according to the official result.
For two selections finishing in the same position, the stake of each selection is divided by two, in to a winning portion and a losing portion.
Where three or more selections finish in one position, the stake is divided by the number of selections finishing in that position. e.g. Three selections finishing first will result in the stake being divided by three. For place markets, the number of places is divided by the number of selections dead heating. e.g. Three selections finish second where there only three places (1-2-3), the bets are calculated as 2/3 stake at the odds. If three selections finish second where there are four places (1-2-3-4), the bets are calculated as 3/3 stake at the odds.
Deduction Factors (Horse Racing)
Due to the fact that one or more horses were withdrawn before the race, the odds of the other horses were adjusted accordingly
