Deduction Factors:
All horseracing displayed on BETDAQ is subject to a unique Rule 4 reduction, which is based on Tattersall's Rule 4. This rule is in place to ensure the smooth running of the horseracing exchange and to provide a fair marketplace for all members. All runners will have a non-runner deduction factor allotted to them from the opening of the market, determined by BETDAQ.
The factor for each runner will be published on the website at the time that the market goes live. This may subsequently change if there is significant movement in a market. If so all bets struck after the amendment will be subject to the new Rule 4 deduction factor. The sum of the deduction factors on all runners at the opening of the market will equal 100%.
As soon as BETDAQ becomes aware of a non-runner in a race, that horse will be removed from display. All orders placed on the non-runner will be voided. When BETDAQ removes a non-runner from a market, the odds on all orders, matched and unmatched, placed on the remaining runners will be reduced by the factor allotted to the withdrawn runner.
The potential winnings of the person betting for a horse to win, and the stake of the person betting for a horse not to win, will be deducted in accordance with the rule. Unmatched bets on the remaining runners will not be cancelled.
In Win" and "Each Way" markets the deduction factor is applied to the price of each bet.
For example: if a horse with a final deduction factor of 15% is withdrawn, the odds of all bets placed on the remaining horses will be reduced by 15%, e.g. a bet placed at odds of 6.0 would become 5.10 after the deduction had been applied (6.0 x 0.85 = 5.10).
These odds may be reduced further if there are additional horses declared as non-runners and withdrawn from the market. If a non-runner in an Each Way market, results in the number of 'places' in the market being reduced, the revised place terms will be applied to all bets in the market.
In "Place" markets the deduction factor is applied to the potential winnings on each bet only, and not the odds of the bet.
For example: if a horse with a final deduction factor of 15% is withdrawn, the potential winnings on all previously matched bets on the remaining horses will be reduced by 15%, i.e. a bet placed at odds of 6.0 would become 5.25 after the deduction had been applied.
For instance, a €20 bet at odds of 6.0, where the potential winnings would be €100. If a non-runner were withdrawn with a deduction factor of 15%, the deduction would be applied to the potential winnings of €100, leaving potential winnings of €85 or a revised matched price of 5.25.
If your selection is a short price and less than 2.0, any deduction factor will reduce your matched price significantly. i.e. deduction factor is 25% and the price of the selection is 1.5, then we multiply the price by 75% and the new price would be 1.125.
These odds may be reduced further if there are additional horses declared as non-runners and withdrawn from the market.
Please note:
That it is the customers responsibility to ensure the market they are placing their bets in has the correct number of selections and that if any selection(s) are withdrawn from the market after your bet has been placed, then a deduction factor will apply to all bets placed prior to the withdrawal of the selection(s) being made to the market.
