Password security
Access to your account on the BETDAQ website is password protected. In order to enhance your own security we recommend that you disable ‘auto-complete’ for passwords and form input boxes. To do this, go to Tools –> Internet Options –> Content –> Auto-Complete. Please also remember to log out of the website when you have finished a session of use.
To change your password go to My Account –>Personal Details –>Security and Password.
Two Step Authentication
BETDAQ Two-Step Authentication reduces the chance of having your account compromised, by requiring a second step of verification when you sign in
In addition to your username and password, BETDAQ will ask you to enter a one-time code which will be displayed by the Google Authenticator application, available for free for iPhone & Android via the App Store / Google Play.
This authentication scheme protects against a range of attacks and eliminates the risk of insecure / easily guessable passwords or shared password being leaked from other websites you use.
This feature is important if you care about the security of your account. When you have enabled Two-Step Authentication, attackers not only have to know/guess your username and password but also guess an additional randomly generated one-time password, which changes every 30 seconds. It is practically impossible to perform this type of attack due to the computational complexity it carries. With Two-Step Authentication your BETDAQ account will have the best protection available.
How do I turn it on?
First download & install the Google Authenticator application on your smartphone. To turn on the Two-Step Authentication feature simply login to your BETDAQ account and visit ‘My Account’. Under ‘Security & Password’ tab you will find the setup screen. Set ‘Enable Two Step Authentication’ to ON, then follow the on screen instructions to sign up and configure your options. It only takes a couple of minutes.
How do I use it?
Start by logging in as usual. You will be presented with an additional login screen if your credentials are correct. Open the Google Authenticator app on your phone and type the verification code in your browser. If the code is correct, you will be logged into your profile. You can choose to do this for every login or only for new devices within ‘Security & Password’ by setting ‘Allow Trusted Devices’ option.
How do I disable it?
To disable Two-Step Authentication simply visit your ‘Security & Password’ page under ‘My Account’. If Two-Step Authentication is enabled for your account ‘Enable Two Step Authentication’ will be set to ON. Set this setting to OFF in order to turn of Two-Step Authentication. Please note this will delete the list of Trusted Devices if any have been saved.
What if I lose my phone?
If the Google Authenticator app was uninstalled from your phone or if your phone was lost / stolen, please contact the BETDAQ helpdesk here / +353 15566222 / helpdesk@betdaq.com. Our support team will then help you to regain access to your account.
